Have your say on the future of Australia’s competition laws
A review of Australia's competition policy and laws has been undertaken, known as the Competition Policy Review . A final report has been released on the findings and recommendations.
The Competition Policy Review final report
The report makes 56 recommendations for changes to competition policy, laws and institutions that will help strengthen the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and promote more dynamic and competitive markets.
The recommendations are designed to help small businesses compete with bigger rivals, through measures such as:
simplifying laws so small business better understand their rights and obligations
allowing better access to justice when disputes occur
having more flexible collective bargaining processes to let small businesses work together when negotiating with large businesses.
