Don’t let yourself disappear – Job scams

Only give your tax file number (TFN) to a new employer after you have started the job.

Scammers are known for targeting legitimate recruitment websites or even social media sites with fake job advertisements that look very real. In these advertisements the scammers will ask you to provide them with your personal information, including your address, date of birth and TFN amongst other things.
